Raw, unpasteurized sauerkraut (not the kind on the Raw, unpasteurized sauerkraut (not the kind on the shelf in vinegar) is packed with a really wide variety of live cultures like Lactobacillus plantarum, L. brevis, and Pediococcus species. 🌿

Just a tablespoon of properly fermented kraut can contain billions of CFUs (colony-forming units) of diverse, living microbes.

Unlike many store-bought probiotics that focus on 1–3 strains, kraut gives you a broad-spectrum ecosystem that your gut loves.

It also comes with prebiotics and postbiotics (like lactic acid and short-chain fatty acids), which you don’t always get in capsules.

IF your gut’s in decent shape and you’re just wanting something real, natural, and effective… you can totally swap the capsule for the kraut.

IF you’re suffering with gut dysbiosis, candida/SIBO, or healing from antibiotics, you might need to stay with a more targeted approach.

DIY Frankincense Resin Infused Oil You’ll Need: DIY Frankincense Resin Infused Oil

You’ll Need:

10 grams finely ground frankincense resin
70 mL jojoba oil (or sweet almond, grapeseed, or argan)

1. Grind the frankincense resin into a fine powder using a coffee grinder or mortar and pestle. The finer it is, the better it infuses.

2. Combine 10 g resin with 70 mL oil in a clean glass jar. Stir well so everything’s fully coated.

3. Infuse with gentle heat at or below 100°F (around 38°C) for 48 to 72 hours. Use a dehydrator, yogurt maker, or sunny window. Shake gently once a day.

4. Strain slowly and carefully using cheesecloth or an unbleached coffee filter to remove all residue.

5. Store in a dark glass bottle and keep in a cool, dry spot.
Shelf life: 6–12 months.

Don’t want to do all this? I have a frankincense resin infused oil called “Fountain of Youth” over at plantedherbals.com (restocks on the 10th)! 🌿

Herbs and drugs both aim to support or shift the b Herbs and drugs both aim to support or shift the body in some way, but they go about it very differently. 👇🏼 allow me to explain…

DRUGS are designed to override.
They’re isolated, concentrated chemicals made to block a symptom or force a specific reaction. Pain? Blocked. Fever? Lowered. Inflammation? Suppressed. They’re fast and powerful, but often at the cost of side effects, dependency, or long-term harm. They rarely ask the body what’s wrong, they just demand a change.

HERBS, on the other hand, are built to work with the body.
They don’t just suppress symptoms. They support the actual systems involved: nourishing, toning, detoxifying, calming, stimulating, depending on what the body needs. It’s like giving your body the tools to repair and regulate itself instead of duct-taping over the warning light.

Take something like chamomile.
It’s not just a “sleepytime” herb. It works on the nervous system, digestion, and inflammation gently and safely. No one is getting liver damage from a cup of chamomile tea. 🌼

Plus, herbs come with synergy.
They’re not just one isolated compound like a drug. They’re whole plants, packed with phytochemicals, minerals, and co-factors that work together to create balance and reduce harm. God already formulated the buffer into it. 🙌🏼

And long-term? Herbs nourish. Drugs deplete.
Most pharmaceutical drugs actually rob the body of nutrients over time or strain the liver and gut. Herbs like nettle or oatstraw replenish those minerals. They build us back up instead of breaking us down.

That said, there is a time and place for emergency medicine.
If my kid breaks their arm, I’m grateful for anesthesia and antibiotics. But for daily wellness, prevention, and the common issues that come up in family life, herbs are safer, smarter, and aligned with how our bodies were designed to heal.
