Ginger powder, turmeric powder, black pepper, pineapple juice, coconut milk, and raw honey are the natural ingredients that make up this golden ginger blend. It can be enjoyed warm or over ice!

You may have heard of golden milk, which is very similar to this golden ginger drink recipe. The only big difference here is we’re using pineapple juice to bring out a sweeter taste.

I still like golden milk recipes when I want something really warming (it also has a pretty spicy flavor that you have to get used to). This golden ginger drink feels like more of an evening or morning treat. I enjoy it even more most days while reaping the same benefits!

What You’ll Need For This Recipe

Kitchen Tools

I like using this tea kettle.

There is an option to just warm the pineapple juice in the microwave for about 1 minute. If you’re using fresh ginger root and turmeric root, the kettle is necessary to boil the roots.

Ingredients

ingredients for Warm Golden Ginger Drink Recipe

Ginger powder or fresh ginger root - If using ginger powder, the drink mixes well but may have a bit of grain due to all the powders in it. I like using fresh ginger root and steeping a bit longer to have the flavors throughout.

Turmeric powder or turmeric root - I suggest an organic source if possible. This ingredient cannot be substituted without losing the main ingredient of our golden drink. If using turmeric root, be sure to steep the tea longer.

Black pepper - Just a pinch goes a long way. The black pepper is in this recipe to make turmeric’s beneficial properties more bio-available.

Pineapple Juice - The pineapple juice naturally sweetens our drink up quite a bit. You can try other juices if you prefer, but I find pineapple is best with this golden ginger drink recipe.

Coconut milk - Full-fat unsweetened coconut milk from a can is my choice since it’s the creamiest. The low-fat canned coconut milk works too. You can also use any other milk of choice, it just might not be as creamy and/or you may need to add more to your turmeric tea.

Raw honey - Use any honey you like. I prefer raw, unfiltered honey for the most health benefits. You can also substitute with a sweetener of your choice; monk fruit, stevia, simple syrup, brown sugar, etc.

How To Make This Golden Ginger Drink Recipe

There are two methods to make this drink. One is easier with already ground spices. The other is with whole ginger and turmeric roots (and you can even use black peppercorns instead of ground black pepper). Feel free to try both to see which method you prefer!

Using Ground Spices:

Warm your pineapple juice over the stove top or in the microwave until hot but not boiling.

Add the ginger, turmeric, black pepper, coconut milk, and raw honey. Stir to combine. Optional to pour through a strainer to get rid of any grittiness.

Enjoy warm or pour over ice!

Allow this to steep for 10 minutes, then strain.

Add the coconut milk and raw honey.

Enjoy warm or pour over ice!
